The Ostbelgien Classic will be the final of the FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies next December!

Do you recall that, at the second edition of the Ostbelgien Classic organised by the team of ‘The Event’ around Michael Bartholemy last December, an observer from the International Automobile Federation was present to analyse the candidacy of the Belgian event for the 2022 final of the FIA Trophy Historic Regularity Rallies?  We have a decision, and the Ostbelgien Classic will indeed be the setting for this highly anticipated final!

“What can I say, except that to reach the final of the FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies after only two editions says a lot about the quality of our organisation”, states Michael Bartholemy.  The vote was clearly in our favour, and we will do everything within our power to make the 2022 Ostbelgien Classic even more attractive and popular.  There is no need to hide it, it is extremely satisfying for the team to benefit from this title.  A great pride, too…”

The Ostbelgien Classic will therefore be the ultimate international place-to-be on Friday 03, Saturday 04, and Sunday 05 December next.  This will no doubt motivate all the Belgian experts in the sport who are set to face stiffer than ever international competition!

“In the next few weeks, we will unveil the main features of this third edition, which is bound to be very special,” Michael Bartholemy continues. And regulars can rest assured that the changes will be exclusively cosmetic, since it is the global concept of the Ostbelgien Classic that has received overwhelming support from the International Automobile Federation.”

Minister-President Oliver Paasch and Minister Isabelle Weykmans are also pleased about the commitment and emphasise: “To be able to present our region once again at this world-renowned sporting event and to now be the venue of an international competition is thanks to the organisational talents and unifying forces of the team ‘The Event’. The participants will compete in the rally through the distinctive landscape, discovering the impressive cultural buildings as well as the unique gastronomy and warm hospitality. And perhaps this will be the impetus for a return for one or the other to get to know the region further on holiday. In any case, we wish all the riders, the teams and, of course, the guests a spectacular and successful weekend and welcome them to East Belgium”.

See you on 02, 03 and 04 December next for an event propelled onto the international classic car regularity scene!  Save the dates!
