Only a couple of days to go to register for the Ostbelgien Classic 2022
In only three weeks the city of Eupen will be bustling and will once again be the hotspot of the Ostbelgien Classic. Organised by the ‘The Event’ team around Michael Bartholemy, all eyes will more than ever be on Eupen, because this year’s event will be the Final of the FIA Historic Regularity Rally Trophy 2022!
The best Belgian, and international, experts in Regularity have already signed up to the event! And there are only few days left for the undecided to join the official list of participants. The deadline for registration is on Tuesday 15 November, at midnight. Please go to the official site of the event, www.ostbelgien-classic.be, under the ‘Inscription 2022’ tab, to announce your presence.
It will be a pity not to attend because, in this run-up to the big start on Friday 02 December, the organizers have confirmed that the course is closed, and that Josef Lambert has once again done an excellent job in view of the great end-of-season confrontation under the FIA label. “Friday’s stage can be considered as a sort of prologue that will allow competitors to become acquainted with what awaits them during the weekend and establish a general classification before the second day. Saturday’s stage will most definitely be marathon-type”, Eric Chapa, the person in charge of sports management, explains. “The crews will have the possibility to discover or rediscover the whole Eiffel region, which is incredibly beautiful, quite sincerely. After a well-deserved restful sleep at Weisswampach, they will head for the Manderfeld region for the last stage, before returning to Butgenbach, then Eupen, with a test on the EMA track. In short, a course worthy of the prestige of the event!”
“Everything is ready on the organisation end”, Michael Bartholemy continues. The 2022 edition of the Ostbelgian Classic will be very intense, and I believe some great FIA Historic Trophy champions will come out of it. East Belgium will well and truly be cast in the spotlight during this international final and we are immensely proud to play a part in this hustle and bustle even before the festive season gets underway. The crews will be regaled for three days – in every sense of the word! See you in Eupen!
